Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park

• 06:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel (Mombasa/Diani/Nyali, etc.)
• Drive along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway towards Tsavo East
• Enter Tsavo East National Park through the Bachuma Gate
• Begin game drive en route to lodge
• Wildlife spotting: Red elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, etc.
• Check-in & Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge or Sentrim Tsavo Tented Camp
• Afternoon rest at the lodge
• 4:00 PM: Afternoon game drive for more wildlife sightings and photo opportunities

Day 2: Full Day in Tsavo East

• 6:30 AM: Early morning tea/coffee

Tsavo East 3-Day Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

Accommodation: Voi Safari Lodge or Sentrim Tsavo Tented Camp

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel around 6:00 AM. You’ll travel along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway, observing the landscape shift from coastal scenery to dry savannah as you approach the entrance to Tsavo East National Park.

Upon arrival at the park gate, the safari experience kicks off right away with a game drive en route to your lodge, where you’ll search for wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and more.

Covering 22,000 km², Tsavo East is one of the largest game parks in the world and is especially known for its red-dusted elephants, maneless lions, and other iconic African wildlife including leopards, cheetahs, and buffalo. After reaching your lodge, check in, enjoy a hearty lunch, and relax.

In the afternoon (around 4:00 PM), embark on another game drive to explore more of the park’s wildlife, aiming for memorable sightings and photography. Return to the lodge before sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Exploring Tsavo East

Accommodation: Voi Safari Lodge or Sentrim Tsavo Tented Camp

Begin your day at 6:30 AM with a light coffee or tea before heading out on an early morning game drive, ideal for spotting predators returning from their nighttime hunts. Afterward, enjoy a full breakfast back at the lodge.

Spend the late morning at leisure or opt for an additional short game drive at 10:30 AM. Return in time for lunch and take time to unwind—swim, relax, or simply enjoy the lodge environment.

At around 4:00 PM, set out once more for an evening game drive, taking advantage of the golden light and increased animal activity. Return to the lodge before dark for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 3: Tsavo East to Mombasa

Start your final day with coffee or tea at 6:30 AM, followed by a final early game drive to catch a glimpse of any wildlife that may be active in the cooler morning hours. Afterward, head back to the lodge for a full breakfast.

Check out and begin your return trip along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway, concluding with drop-off at your coastal hotel or Moi International Airport for your onward journey.
